Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has expressed his dissatisfaction at the ongoing insecurity in the South-East.
Speaking to the media after his court hearing on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Abuja, Kanu demanded to know persons responsible for the violence in the region.
According to him, he suspects some government officials are behind the insecurity. He further stated that should he be released; he would resolve the insecurity challenges in the entire East within two minutes.
Kanu said;
“They know me very well and I suspect that some people in the government are complicit. They are making money with insecurity. They know if Nnamdi Kanu is outside in two minutes this nonsense will stop. Who is the idiot, who is the bada that will speak when I’m talking? Who is the fool? Who is the idiot? I ask. That I give an order in the East and any idiot will counter it? Who is the bastard? I’m asking you? Nobody can. I am Nnamdi Kanu, who is the idiot?
Anybody involved in any form of violence in the South-East in the name of IPOB, let me come out of this nonsense, this mess, only two minutes, I guarantee you, and there will be peace in the South-East.”.
During the hearing, the court denied Kanu bail. Justice Binta Nyako held that the court cannot grant Kanu bail on the fresh application having rejected an earlier one.
Also, Kanu pleaded with the court to transfer him from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), to Kuje prison as he claims there are no medical facility to cater for his illness.
