The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Olakunlehin has appointed a past chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Olugbemiga Ayoade as his Chief Press Secretary.
His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated August 29, 2024, and signed by Prince Olasunmbo Olakulehin on behalf of the monarch.
According to the statement, Ayoade was born into the Taiwo Ariyibi Dynasty of E8/215, Eleruko compound, Oke Ofa Baba Isale.
He holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Ibadan Polytechnic, a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology (1989), and a master’s in Sociology (1995) from the University of Ibadan.
As a core professional, Ayoade has held several key positions in the NUJ, including Financial Secretary, Ministry of Information NUJ Chapel, Treasurer, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Oyo State NUJ Chapter.
At the national level, he served as a member of the 7-man committee on Insurance Policy for journalists in Nigeria.
Currently, he is the chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Oyo State NUJ.
