NWC pledges end to PDP crisis

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has expressed confidence in the peace panel led by former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, believing that most issues will be resolved in time.

In an exclusive interview with, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, speaking on behalf of the NWC, disclosed that the Oyinlola committee had visited most geopolitical zones and addressed their issues.

Ologunagba stated that the committee was making progress while proceeding with caution.

He said, “They have been going around. The last stop was in the South-East. So, there are six zones in this country, and there are many issues that we are concerned about. And we are optimistic that the committee will resolve most issues.

“We have a lot of people involved, and, of course, they have to be methodical. And because we’re talking about human interests, about individuals, about human beings, you’ve got to listen. It takes time, and we are reconciling people.

“That’s exactly what they’re doing. So, yes, it’s better to err on the side of caution by saying it needs more time. So, they must be careful as they do that.”

A member of the Oyinlola-led committee and former PDP National Vice Chairman for the South-West, Eddy Olafeso, stated that the panel had visited three of the six geopolitical zones.

In an exclusive interview with Sunday, Olafeso revealed that the committee had already toured the South-West, South-East, and North-East and was scheduled to visit the South-South in the coming days.

He said, “We can’t speak much because we have not concluded at the committee level.

“We are working, and within the next few weeks, party faithful will be hearing our conclusions. What I can tell you is that things are changing for the better, both internally and externally. So, I can guarantee you that things are getting better for our party. That’s true.

“Of course, we have done the South-West, we have done the North-East, we have done the South-East, and we’re moving to the South-South shortly.”
