Niger-South stakeholders back Gov Bago’s security measures

The Niger-South Senior Stakeholders’ Forum (NSSF) has expressed full support for Niger Governor, Hon. Muhammad Umaru Bago, efforts to ensure adequate security of lives and properties in the state.

The Forum, at its inaugural Executive Committee meeting, held on Monday, recommended Governor Bago for taking decisive action to restore peace and order in the state’s capital, Minna.

The meeting was held under the leadership of the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Liman, (Wazirin Baro/Zannan Agaie).

The Forum in a statement on Monday by its Secretary General, Dr. Mohammed Santuraki (Santurakin Nupe), said “The NSSF notes that Minna, once a city of peace and harmony, had been plagued by fear due to the activities of street thugs and miscreants. We therefore hail Governor Bago for taking enhanced security measures with the aim of improving public order and safety.”

The Forum urged the youth to refrain from social vices and to serve as good ambassadors of the state.

“We also advocate for collaboration among all stakeholders, including parents and community leaders, to support the Niger State government’s efforts in addressing these pressing issues,” Santuraki stated.

The NSSF also expressed its commitment to working with both the Federal and State Governments and non-governmental organizations to actualize critical projects and programmes in the Zone and Niger State at large.

“Very soon, the Forum would unveil plans for constructive engagements with both the Federal and State Governments and non-governmental organizations regarding the actualization of some of the critical projects and programmes in our Zone and Niger State at large,” Santuraki said.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among leaders and stakeholders of Niger-South Senatorial District, to advance and safeguard the political and developmental interests of the people and the zone.
