Federal Govt Approves Redesignation Of Information Cadre Officer

Federal government through the National Council on Establishments (NCE)  has approved the redesignation of Information Officer Cadre to Information and Public Relation Officer Cadre GL08 to 17, and Executive Officer (Information and Public) GL 06 to 14.

This was contained in a circular dated March 21, 2024, signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.

According to the circular, the approval was made during the National Council on Establishments (NCE) 45th Meeting which was held from December 11 to 13, 2023 in Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The circular stated that the approved structures are Officer Cadre and Executive Cadre, and that the Officer Cadre include Information and Public Relations Officer II,  Information and Public Relations Officer I.

Others are Senior Information and Public Relations Officer, Principal Information and Public Relations Officer, Assistant Chief Information and Public Relations Officer, Chief Information and Public Relations Officer, Assistant Director (Information and Public Relations) Deputy Director (Information and Public Relations) and Director (Information and Public Relations).

While the Executive Cadre include Assistant Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations), Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations), Higher Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations), Senior Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations).

 

Others are Principal Executive Officer II (Information and Public Relations), Principal Executive Officer I (Information and Public Relations), Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations), and Chief Executive Officer (Information and Public Relations).

The circular further states that the development will be reflected in the subsequent edition of the Schemes of Service, and that it takes effect from December 13, 2023, the date of Council’s approval.
