The Enugu State Waste Management Authority has cancelled the monthly clean-up exercise that was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

A statement on Friday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water and Waste, Andreas Gebauer, said the cancellation was due to the state-wide funeral rites in honour of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

The statement partly read, โ€œThe Enugu State Waste Management Authority has cancelled the state monthly clean-up exercise, which was scheduled to hold on Saturday.

โ€œThe cancellation was due to the state-wide funeral rites in honour of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, scheduled to be held the same Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Enugu.โ€

ESWAMA, however, advised โ€œNdi Enugu to always keep their environment clean and bag their waste properly before disposal to make the evacuation easier for the evacuators,โ€ adding that โ€œall inconveniences regarding the Clean Up cancellation are highly regretted.โ€
