BREAKING: Makinde orders illegal traders, erected kiosks, to vacate roadside

The Oyo Government has instructed individuals occupying illegally erected kiosks, containers, shanties, and other roadside traders to vacate within seven days or face penalties.

Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, issued the directive in Ibadan during an inspection tour of the Ojoo area on Tuesday.

Mogbonjubola stated that these illegal occupants were causing unnecessary traffic congestion and their activities violated the state’s Environmental Sanitation Regulation of 2013, constituting an environmental nuisance.

He suggested that their business activities could be relocated to more suitable locations in neighbourhood markets.

The official mentioned that this measure will help prevent road accidents and mitigate the loss of lives and property.
