Bandits attack Katsina mosque during Ramadan prayers, kill politician, abduct wife, daughters

It’s, however, gathered that the victim was killed when he refused to follow the orders of the assailants.

Bandits terrorising the north west region of Nigeria have attacked Faskari local government area of Katsina State.

One Alhaji Lado, a politician, was reportedly gunned down during the attack.

The politician was killed on Saturday when The armed non-state actors attacked a mosque at Mairuwa village in Faskari during Ramadan prayer.

Details of the incident are still hazy at the moment.

It’s, however, gathered that the victim was killed when he refused to follow the orders of the assailants.

The attackers kidnapped the wife and two daughters of Alhaji Lado, according to Daily Trust.

An eyewitness also said that one of the victims of the attack was a health worker he simply identified as Sani.

“He worked at the Mairuwa Health Facility,” the witness said.

Katsina has been ravaged by violent attacks and wanton killings for years on end now.

Efforts to address the perennial security crisis have yielded little or no results.

The Katsina State police command is yet to react to the unfortunate development.
