Nigerian sports marketing and promotional outfit, Act Sports Di Oyibo Limited has launched another football academy, this time, in Ghana, thus fulfilling part of it’s partnership agreement with Italian team, Torino Football Club to discover, groom and expose football talents from both countries.
Just like what the company did when it launched a similar academy in Lagos a few weeks ago, a young team comprising of 22 players and technical crew was unveiled in Elimina, a commercially vibrant town in Ghana’s central region, early this week.
The team is managed by one of Ghana’s experienced coach, Alexander Acquaye Jr to be assisted Nicholas Anamoah Arthur and David Justice Koufie, Team Manager and Head of Scouting respectively. Coach Kofi Day Arku-Banson is also an active member of the technical crew.
On hand to address the media after the unveiling was the Director of Act Sports, and the main representative of Torino FC in Africa, Pastor Samuel Robinson Oyibo who was very excited about the company’s latest achievement.
“The launching of this academy which is simply to be known as the Act Sports + Torino Football Academy is yet another chapter in our quest to open up more opportunities for our young ones with talent in football to leverage on their passion and fulfill their potentials in the sport,” he said.
“The Elimina-Ghana branch of the Act Sports Group of academies mark another chapter in our quest to export the very best of Africa’s football talents overseas. I see our current efforts yielding bountiful dividends now and in the future,” he added.
