A resident who is familiar with the matter said the body of the deceased was on the verge of decomposing when it was discovered by her now distraught son.
In Lagos State, a newly employed househelp has allegedly killed his employer just seven days after he resumed work.
The fleeing househelp, identified simply as Peter, stabbed the woman to death in her home at 29, Kiniun-Ifa Street in the Gbagada area of the state.
It’s yet to be established when he committed the heinous crime but it was gathered that the lifeless body of the deceased was found by her son who visited her on Saturday, March 9.
The deceased was said to be the only one living in the building which has since been locked up after her murder. But There were three shops in front of the building.

The resident, who spoke in confidence with newsmen, said, “The woman’s son, upon arriving at the compound, went straight to his mother’s apartment, only to find her lifeless body on the staircase, with blood all over.
“A long piece of wood suspected to be the murder weapon was also found. By then, the body had started swelling, suggesting that the woman might have been killed days before.”
It’s gathered that the fugitive househelp resumed work a week before the tragedy occurred.
According to Vanguard, a relative of the agent that brought the househelp had been arrested. But the whereabouts of the unidentified agent was unknown.
Policemen at the Ifako Police Division were said to have visited the scene and evacuated the corpse.
However, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He disclosed that the househelp had been arrested.
Hundeyin added that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCIID, Panti.
