“IGP Reaffirms Commitment to Gender Equality in Police Force”

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has pledged to fully implement the Nigeria Police Force’s gender policy. As part of this commitment, he has expanded Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Desk Offices to all police divisions nationwide to strengthen efforts against gender-based violence.

Additionally, in a historic move, he appointed Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Yetunde Longe as the first female Force Secretary, emphasizing the force’s push toward gender inclusivity. These initiatives align with global best practices and aim to create a fair, professional, and inclusive environment within the police force.
