Brentford Thrash Leicester City 4-0 to Deepen Foxes’ Relegation Woes

In a dominant display at the King Power Stadium, Brentford overwhelmed Leicester City with a 4-0 victory, intensifying the Foxes’ relegation concerns. This defeat marks Leicester’s sixth consecutive home loss without scoring, setting a new Premier League record.

The match commenced with Leicester showing early promise, as Woyo Coulibaly’s effort was saved by Mark Flekken, and Jamie Vardy’s attempt was also denied. However, Brentford quickly seized control. In the 17th minute, Mikkel Damsgaard’s precise pass found Yoane Wissa, who slotted the ball into the net. Ten minutes later, Damsgaard assisted Bryan Mbeumo, who curled a shot past the goalkeeper. Christian Nørgaard added a third in the 32nd minute, heading in from an Mbeumo free-kick. Substitute Fábio Carvalho sealed the rout with a late goal in the 89th minute.

This result propels Brentford to 10th place in the league, while Leicester remains entrenched in the relegation zone. The pressure mounts on manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, whose side has now suffered ten defeats in their last eleven league matches.
