A group, EnterpriseNGR, says it has graduated 100 youths from its internship programme established to empower young Nigerians with a view to eradicating unemployment and underemployment in the country.

In a statement on Sunday, the group explained that it trains young Nigerians after which they are placed in different firms as interns, an opportunity that places them in an employable pedestal.

EnterpriseNGR, through its initiative, Youths of Enterprise, graduated the 100 cohorts to put the number of youths it had empowered so far at 1000.

According to the group, the event which was held on April 3, marked a pivotal moment for over 100 young interns across the nation.

Encouraging the cohorts, Chief Executive Officer of EnterpriseNGR, Obi Ibekwe, lauded the graduating cohort for their unwavering dedication and perseverance throughout the rigorous programme.

She said, “From the initial application stage to the Graduate Aptitude Test, orientation and eventual placements in leading firms, each step demanded resilience and determination, culminating in the successful graduation of today’s cohort.”

Also speaking at the event, Chapel Hill Denham, a founding member of EnterpriseNGR and sponsor of the Cohort II awards, was represented by Ms. Adaora Obikili, Head of Retail Products. Obikili, reflected on her career journey which she said started as an intern over two decades ago.

Obikili further emphasised the benefits of long-term investments as the pathway to financial freedom and a fulfilling retirement.

The cohorts who were grouped and tasked were showered with financial start up.

Ibekwe said “While the group in the third-place received N50,000 worth of investments for each group member, the second-place received N100,000 worth of investments per member and the overall best graduating intern received investments worth N250,000 each.”
