Ekiti Varsity Confers Honorary Doctorate On Adelusi-Adeluyi

Renowned pharmacist and former minister for health and human resources, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, has been awarded honorary Doctorate of Law (Honoris Causa) by Ekiti State University.

The award will be conferred on him during the forthcoming convocation ceremony of the university.

A letter signed by the registrar of the Ivory Tower who is also the secretary to the Governing Council, Ife Oluwole, explained that the ceremony will hold on April 4, 2024, at the University Auditorium.

It also stated that the award is in recognition of Adelusi-Adeluyi’s “contribution to the development of the university, Nigeria, and the international community.”

A pharmacist and lawyer, Adelusi-Adeluyi, is the founder and chairman of Juli Pharmacy Plc, the first indigenous company to be quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

A philanthropist, Prince Adelusi-Adeluyi currently serves as the chairman of the MTN Foundation, which has invested over N21 billion in various initiatives in Nigeria’s 36 states and federal capital.

 

An octogenarian, he is an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and a holder of the national honour of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).
