Insecurity: IGP’s Special Police Squad Arrives In Kaduna

The 200 Policemen of the inspector-general of police’s special intervention squad have arrived Kaduna and received by Governor Uba Sani to be deployed in some troubled security areas.

Receiving the squad at Government House on Sunday, the governor commended the inspector-general of police, Kayode Egbetekun for fulfilling his promise on the deployment of the squad.

Governor Sani also expressed appreciation to the federal government, particularly President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies for the successful rescue of the kidnapped Kuriga school children.

Recall that IGP Egbetokun had during a visit to Kaduna State after the abduction of Kuriga school children, promised to deploy a special mobile force to assist tackle insecurity.

Officials said the special squad armed with Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other sophisticated weapons will be deployed to trouble areas like Birnin Gwari, Chikun and Kajuru among others.

Meanwhile, Governor Sani, his deputy Dr. Hadiza Balarabe and other top government officials were in a closed-door meeting with heads of security agencies in the state and leaders of the Kuriga community to receive the rescued school children.
