Some couples seem like they are living proof of the saying that ‘marriages are made in heaven.’ However, having a successful marriage is not exactly a cakewalk. It takes a lot of patience to understand and live in harmony with one’s spouse.
Women empowerment coach and etiquette consultant Amanda Ferguson revealed the wonderful ways her husband taught her to be a “relaxed woman.” Married to her best friend of 11 years and being a mother to four children, Ferguson feels empowered by her femininity and she credits her husband for that.
At the beginning of the video, Ferguson said, “My husband taught me how to be a relaxed woman.” Having seen the different ways women lead their lives, like the praying women, the ambitious women and the strong women, being a “relaxed” woman seemed quite important to Ferguson. “My husband taught me that rest wasn’t a recommendation.
It was a requirement,” said Ferguson in a calm and peaceful tone that gave away how well her husband’s words had influenced her. The wife emphasized that her husband often reassured her by saying, “I’ve got you.” She credited this reassurance to the relaxed personality that she had adopted with time.
Having a husband who always kept his word made Ferguson feel safe and secure. “It allows you to flourish in your femininity,” said the wife. Being a person who coaches women to feel empowered, Ferguson herself felt that her empowerment came from feeling secure because of an understanding partner. “You can’t grow in survival and softness at the same time,” the mom and it resonated with many on the internet. She implied that women’s life will either be dominated by survival or by softness and that can be greatly influenced by the nature of their spouses. “He allowed me to push my survival mode to the side, and he allowed my softness to come to the surface,” the wife explained.
Ferguson’s husband taught her that since there was no competition in their marriage, they never had to fight at all. As per the husband, he and his wife are one and this perspective gives immense emotional strength to the wife. “He’s always allowed me to be in my femininity,” Ferguson said and added, “If you ever want to know what to look for in a man, let me give you a simple key. A man who doesn’t want to break God’s heart won’t want to break yours.” No wonder Ferguson’s video garnered over 3.7 million views. People couldn’t agree more with Ferguson and her husband’s outlook on marriage and life.
“A man that says, ‘I got you,’ or ‘Let me know what you need,’ and actually sticking to it literally will allow a woman to be in her soft feminine energy. She becomes a flower blooming,” commented @iambronzegoddess1. “No one talks about how hard it is to embrace femininity and softness when you’ve been in survival mode half your life. I’m working on myself because his love gives me peace and all things soft,” wrote @bonolo_teffo. “Haven’t felt femininity in so long. I’m a female by gender but a male in my actions. So, tired of being strong and just want to be a lady again,” commented @katiek_83.
