Onyedika’s Return Boosts Nigeria Ahead of 2026 WCQ
Raphael Onyedika has given Nigeria a major boost ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The midfielder suffered an injury last month during Club Brugge’s league clash with Standard Liège, forcing him off the pitch. He was also absent from the squad in Brugge’s recent win over KAA Gent.
However, the 23-year-old has now been named in the club’s squad for tonight’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash against Aston Villa at the Jan Breydelstadion.
His return is good news for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle as Nigeria prepares for crucial must-win qualifiers later this month.
